More Yosemite

Here is another quick picture from our trip to Half Dome. This was taken from the Little Yosemite Valley which is near the base of Half Dome and above Nevada Falls.

Half Dome

Dave and I went to Yosemite this past weekend. While we were there we climbed Half Dome. It was about a 20 mile hike, and lasted 15 hours. The first 7 miles were nice, but the last 2 were terrible and the cables were even worse. If you ever thought you might want to climb Half Dome, I am probably not the person to talk to about it. But I am sort of glad we did it, and I am really glad it is over. Here aer some pictures from our hike.

Dave's New TV

Dave went to a charity dinner for his work, while he was there, he bought raffle tickets. Anyways, he won! A new big fancy TV, (that i am not allow to clean)
So here it is!

Summer Fun

Mattie and Jake had such a nice time with their cousins this past weekend. They got to go swimming and even see some horses.

Yesterday afternoon, the No TV rule was in effect, and since it wasn't too terribly hot, Mattie and Jake were outside playing art school. They were being really cute. I got this cute picture of Jake, he was the student, Mattie was being the teacher, who was looking for her lost dog. (I can't explain it)

Mattie had her 2nd soccer game today, she did really well, she stopped a ball, with her FACE and then was out for the quarter. She came back in as goalie and rocked it. Sorry, no pictures, it is too hard to be a coach and a soccer mom with a camera. I have personal limitations :(

Tall Ships Festival

Last night we went to the Tall Ships Festival down at Dana Point. Mattie and Jake liked seeing the big boats and watching the canon ball war.

Mattie's First day of First Grade

Today was Mattie's first day of first grade. She was very uneasy this morning. While getting ready and making her bed she had 3 melt downs.

Then we left, she was happy

She was happy because of her Tinkerbell belt, she made me take a picture of it, so here it is.

We got to school and she was unhappy.

We met her very nice teacher and found her desk and she was even more unhappy. We left her there, not happy

We picked her up and she was 'beary' happy. She had a nice time and saw her friends and had lunch on the grass in the shade of the tree. She said everything was her favorite part.

Jake's 1st day of preschool

Jake started preschool yesterday. He was very excited. He put on his backpack and his lunch pail (that his grandma audrey had sent him) and was ready to go. He was even willing to let me take some pictures. He was very proud of the backpack (which was empty) and his lunch pail

He did just fine and school and didn't seem to care one bit when I left him, and when I picked him up, he gave me a big hug said hi mom and then got down to go and play more :)
