When I have grown a foot or two

Here are Dave and Jake just before Church. If you know Dave, you know he is probably wearing hat or sunglasses, and since you can't wear a hat to church he has sunglasses. When Jake came out wearing sunglasses I just knew I had to get a picture of the two of the them. I love how Jake is looking up at his dad.

And Jake really wanted Mattie to have her picture taken too, mostly he wanted her to wear sunglasses too, so if you look in the corner you will see something blurry, that is Jake trying to get Mattie to put on her sunglasses :)

Why I am a bad person

So the on Tuesday I fired up the barbque and when I lifted the lid, a bird took off from above in a hurry. So, I looked up to see this: So, not really wanting a bird's nest right above my bbq I asked Dave to please take it down before anyone got to comfy in there. Well my dear hubs did just what I asked and took it down for me today, only to find this:
So now I feel so bad. We are going to put it back and hopefully the mommy bird will come back to her eggs. I have noticed a nervous bird in the yard, so hopefullly that is mommy watch her eggs.

Silly Jake

So on Monday, Dave took Jake to Target (not Walmart but that is a whole different story). Well Jake somehow managed to get Dave to take him down the toy aisle and he came home with a 6' long car ramp. It is apparently very fun. Well yesterday, I was helping Mattie with her homework and Jake was by himself in the family room and this is what I found.

Isn't he silly, then when he saw the camera was out he wanted to pose some for me so this is what I got :)

Ballerina Mattie

Today was Mattie's Ballet Awards Banquet. She passed her tests! Here is her certificate and a picture of Mattie with her teacher, Miss Jennifer, and most importantly her (3rd) trophy! (Trophies are huge with Mattie she has 2 soccer ones and now a ballet one)

Fashion Island

Last night we went to Fashion Island, and of course Mattie and Jake got to play in the fountain (until we were so freezing cold we had to go somewhere warmer)

Mattie's Field Trip

Mattie's class went on a field trip to the Gabriello Aquarium and I got to tag along. This was probably the funnest part, hatching the grunion eggsMy moody 1st grader

Apparently in our ward they are doing the spotlight children in alphabetical order. Mattie got her turn yesterday
